Back from holiday
5:29 AM Edit This 0 Comments »Well we are now back from our long weekend holiday.
We went to Moore River, Guilderton for 3 nights. The sun was shining all weekend until today, but that's ok as we were just coming home anyway.
We had a good relaxing time by the river and beach, even though our holiday home we rented was a bit old and daggy.
Ezra was a good boy the whole weekend, except at bed time... We had taken his porta-cot as we had planned for him to sleep in one room and we sleep in the other, but that didn't work out too well...I didn't want him sleeping in the room all by himself as I didn't like the feeling of the house...so we all slept in the lounge together.
Even then, I tried to get him to sleep in his cot but he just wasn't having it. At home he sleeps in his cot in his own room, from 7pm to 6am usually with no problem. I guess a different place, different environment was sitting well with him. And he had Daniel and me in the same room as him watching movies where as he's used to his room being quiet, so we didn't help the cause either. He stayed in his cot for a couple hours though, but we ended up putting him in bed with us just to save the stress.
We went down to the beach on Saturday, was Ezra's first time. He absolutely loved it. We didn't go swimming but he loved seeing all the new things. And he loved the sand! He didn't eat it but he just liked touching it and squishing it and trying to dig it up with his little spade. Was such a delight to watch him explore.
We did get photos of him on Daniels phone but it's decided it doesn't want to connect to the computer any more. So we'll have to try on his mums computer with his memory card...Will update...
Ezra swung on the swing for his first time too. He really loved it. He could swing back and forth and get closer than further from mummy in one fluid movement, it is such a joy watching your baby discover things.
Will update with a video...
On Sunday it was super hot, the sun was so strong, it was a burning sun though, not a nice this is the life sun.
In the morning me and Ezra decided we'll go for a walk and play on the swing. So we set off and next to the playground is the Guilderton Country Club and the town hall. At the town hall they were holding a family fun day thing. They had a bouncy castle, a little train ride, arts, crafts and some vintage cars were on display. It was pretty busy even though Moore River is a little town. Lots of holidayers there for the Queens Birthday weekend.
When we got back to the house, I stripped Ezra's clothes off as he was starting to sweat, and then I notice there's this unsightly rash forming on his chin and under his eyes. I am so sure I didn't give him anything new to eat and even now I have no idea what caused it. Maybe it was the sun??? It stayed on his face all day, but he wasn't bothered about it so I just left it and the next morning it was gone.
Actually, come to think of it, even Sunday morning he was looking a little bit sick...and Saturday night I drunk I think 2 or 3 glasses of wine...and he did spew up some of his breakfast....hmmmm.......OK, I'm thinking it was my fault now.......but I thought alcohol goes out of your breastmilk after 2 hours.......and it was 10 hours from when I had my last drink and I fed him. But anywho....I am now thinking it's my fault. It's funny how you don't realise things until after you've written them down.
Before anyone says "bad mother!", just know that that was the most I've ever drunk since falling pregnant with Ezra, and only on two other occasions have I drunk alcohol since Ezra has been born, the first one, was 1 glass of Jim Beam & Coke...and I had pumped so gave him that instead of feeding him...and the second time was last Saturday and was a quarter glass of wine when I went out for dinner in which he was asleep when I got home and didn't need to feed him till 6 the next morning.
